A tantalizing clash awaits as Inter take on Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday evening. The Giallorossi come into this game having lost their recent Europa League tie with Villarreal, but it was a moot result as they won the first leg 4-0. They next will face cross-town rivals Lazio in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals, and so Luciano Spalletti will have to manage his squad carefully to keep all key players fresh for that must-win game.
Seven points behind Juventus in the race for the Scudetto, it looks like Roma will again have to settle for a runners-up spot in that battle. Nonetheless, they will want to ensure they do not slip-up and miss out on second spot, as third spot means they again will have to try their luck through the Champions League play-offs.
Inter, meanwhile, have turned a corner and are already in contention for Europa League football. Stefano Pioli’s side are not resting on their laurels as they intend to make a late push for third.

Roma are on a three game winning streak, whilst Inter have rebounded from their loss in the Derby d’Italia to Juventus by winning two on the spin. The Nerazzurri have a very solid home record, whilst Roma, although very excellent at the Stadio Olimpico, have struggled in their travels.
They have lost five out of their last 13 away games, whilst winning six, and that includes a 3-2 surprise defeat to Sampdoria. Their away struggles is something that Inter will want to take advantage of as they aim to try to close the gap on third-placed Napoli.

The Nerazzurri have the added advantage of not featuring in Europe, so they will be a bit more well-rested than their opponents, and with that strong home form, they should be able to get at least a point from this fixture. Roma’s potent attack could cause them some problems, especially with Edin Dzeko in red hot form.
